MILLELIRE
This restaurant is located right in the heart of the historic center of Sestri Levante and is the trendy meeting place where you can enjoy excellent cocktails and small local specialties.
It opens every day in the morning for breakfast and serves nonstop until late at night!
Its marine style interior is entirely covered in wood and embellished with family heirlooms.
It owes its name to the submarine Domenico Millelire which, launched in 1927, was the protagonist of
numerous enterprises of the Italian navy.
One of the Millelire Submarine’s claims to fame was its participation as an outpost in support of Italo Balbo's
legendary flight to Brazil.
On this occasion, it passed through the Strait of Gibraltar, totally submerged, which was very dangerous for that period, since there were no radars and navigating in the " blind” in that area of variable depths and strong currents, was a heroic undertaking.
Inside the restaurant many photos portray the submarine and its crew, in a unique and comfortable
environment where Fabio, Massimo and Stefano will be able to advise you at any time of the day.
In the evening the "Mille", as it is affectionately called by our guests, becomes the center of the nightlife "Sestrina", the best place to spend the evening in the company of the best drinks and the best scones of Sestri Levante.
